Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale Split After 13 Years of Marriage: No Doubt Singer Files for Divorce

WOW! From left and right, celebrity marriages are turning out to have the end result of Divorce. Sad news for Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale as they are splitting after 13 years of marriage. The couple confirmed to Us Weekly their news of them divorcing and prepared a joint statement.

“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment,” they tell Us, “To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”

Stefani filed documents to end their union on Monday, Aug. 3, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Superior Court confirmed. Both are citing irreconcilable differences, and are seeking joint custody of their three young sons, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, 17 months.

Stefani spoke up about their marriage in Cosmopolitan the March 2015 issue, noting that they have had so many ups-and-downs.

“We go through so much together — it’s a miracle that we could stay together this long,” Stefani, 45, told the mag. “[Gavin’s] on a short tour right now, and he wrote me the sweetest note this morning. It’s good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that’s what keeps relationships going, when both people can be themselves and have their own individuality. That’s especially important for women. It’s hard to find time for yourself.”

Stefani also mentioned that she loved that he was the father of her three kids. “I do think he’s quite handsome,” she said. “It’s not the most important thing about him, but it is nice — and he makes really cute babies!”
